New 2021 Toyota Avalon AWD to offer Nightshade Edition

Toyota is stepping up the game by including AWD and a series of other interesting updates to its Avalon sedan series. Check out the newly unveiled model!

While other automakers like Ford and Chevrolet are slowly backing out of competing for a place in the large sedan segment, Toyota seems not tired at all as it recently announced new updates to be featured in its 2021 Avalon sedan launched into the American market. More than that, the Japanese automaker has also added an intriguing Nightshade Edition which is actually based on the Avalon XSE trim.

This all-new Nightshade Edition packs a variety of interesting features like a fresh-looking rear spoiler, mirror caps, and grille which are all painted black. Similarly, it also comes with a new shark fin antenna, door handles and window trim and 19-inch allow wheels which are all finished with black-paint.

Above all of this interesting aesthetics is the big news of the long-awaited all-wheel-drive system which is now an available option on the 2021 Toyota Avalon Limited and XLE trims.

This powerful system can actually direct as much as 50% of the new sedan’s engine torque straight to the vehicle’s rear wheels with a promise to supply effective traction at all times.

The new 2021 Toyota Avalon is powered by a 2.5-liter 4-Cylinder engine which delivers up to 205 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. The sedan’s powertrain comprises this powerful engine and 8-speed auto transmission in a setup that helps the vehicle achieve an overall fuel-economy rating of 25/34/28mpg for city/highway/combined.
